3 not hell stars!
Instead of Arrow’s Hell, this seemed more like Anna’s Jealousy. I read Dragon’s Lair a year ago and to this day I’ve read it more times than I can count, I can quote it, that’s how many times I’ve re-read it, I love it. I had high hopes for this one, when I got my ARC I did a little happy dance and to an extend it delivered but it lacked the hell part.
After Mary’s death, Arrow goes into a 5-year mourning/pouting/celibacy period. We don’t get to see that part though, hello time jump; for a whole year I wanted to see how Arrow was going to come back from that dark place of loosing Mary and instead, first page, Anna walks in and BAM Arrow recalls that one time he saw her picture and wanted to screw her. I did not see that coming; I lost count of how many times he said he didn’t love Mary but he loved her but he didn’t love her really. I understand that in order for the Arrow/Anna part to move forward, Arrow had to move on from Mary but it didn’t happen; it made me feel sorry for Mary, it was such a beautiful story line but nope.
Anna – like Faye – is an educated woman; a scientist. She felt anything but, whiny and jealous of everyone around her, definitely not a twenty five year old woman, at all. Can’t say I liked her, she had a few good moments but that’s it.
I did love the old gang, Tracker and Sin with Faye and their daughter, I just loved those little bits of the old group and this was slightly bigger than the first, Anna’s POV was kinda tiring and predictable, clubs, make-up, clothes, making Arrow jealous and getting herself into trouble over the stupidest things. I just want to read about a female main character that won’t get into the same cliche situation MC books usually put them through, put that PhD to good use, will you.
It was good but not as good as the first one, I’m definitely looking forward to Tracker’s book! #TeamLana ♥
