5 wtf-did-I-just-read stars!
Honestly, I don’t know what to say about this book! It kept showing up everywhere and it had raving reviews but what made me want to read it was the fact that I knew AT would deliver an amazing read and it would blow my mind. The first book I read from her was Sex. Love. Repeat and it blew my mind. AT + love triangle + big plot twist = one epic read.
Brant & Layana & Lee and their hidden lies and heavy past. One amazing story with a mindblowing twist and a heartwarming love! Lyana’s future had been plant before she was born. With a respectful family, social status and ivy league, good and providing husband are some of the things she is expected to do. She is a rebel deep inside though and she can’t wait for her future to be on her hands. Once her trust found is hers, she’s ready to explore the world and travel, be free and finally live as she wishes to. But even she – a woman with that much desire for life can find it unfulfilling and empty. So, coming back home and to the life she is used to surrounded by the very same people, she meets Brant.
Their love is something else, they are a match made in heaven and they’re only one ending for their love story. Until she learns about the Secret Brant is hiding and everything go downhill from there. She’s not the same, he is not the same and their story is interrupted.
He’s the guy that works with his hands. He won’t hesitate to hit on an almost married woman and she in return seeks that raw passion he can provide. Of course somewhere along those lines, the big twist in the story is making itself known. Even though Lyana doesn’t even think about until later in the book, the clues are all there ready to be found and the story makes so much sense when that happens. It is not the first story I’ve read that has a similar twist but this isn’t as dark and bloody. Literally.
I don’t want to spoil the twist because the story is right there but this isn’t just another cheating book. You really haven’t read a story like theirs and even if you aren’t used to reading cheating stories, this one is worth it. Like I said, not really a cheating story.
If you think you’ve heard this story before, trust me – you haven’t.
This is the second book I read from the author and it will not be my last. I knew immediately when I read the blurb with her name on it that it would be an amazing read and it delivered. Rich writing, beautifully flawed characters and a deep story that you will stay with you. A must read!
