“Still?” she asks with a watery smile.
“Yeah.” Always. Evermore. Even after. “Still.”
MY HEART IS SO FULL OF THEM I CAN’T EVEN! Bristol and Grip are officially on the top ten of my favorite couples, with Alexander and Tatiana, Rimmel and Romeo, Garrett and Hannah, Trent and Drew, Jamie and Wes and so on. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve re-read my favorite parts of this duology and I still cannot get enough.
Still picks up where Grip left off, Bristol and Grip are navigating careers and relationship and now Grip is ready for s step further. No, not marriage, but doing the best he can for his community which means moving briefly to NY for a semester under his idol. And Bristol follows him, because THESE TWO JUST ARE #COUPLEGOALS ALL THE WAY TO NY!
“A love like ours is only satisfied by forever.”
What I love about this duology is that sure it i sexy and romantic and overall so binge worthy it’s insane but also it has a very strong message to deliver, several actually. Every issue that the black community faces every day, racial profiling, girls going missing, police brutality, young people unable to make parole or get a good representation in court. But it also had a lot of moments where racism against interracial couples is mentioned and I loved how the author balances those issues with the romantic themes in the book. Perfect balance of real talk and fictional love.
I don’t have much to say, my 1k review of Grip covered everything. This was a sequel done to perfection and sequels rarely get to that point so I was over te moon when I ended up loving this one so much. Kudos to Kennedy Ryan for writing such a beautiful story with these powerful messages and bringing us Bristol and Grip. A must read.
