The Sunday Post is a weekly recap meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

What happened since the last time I posted a Sunday post? Oh, there’s a car in space now..

In other, earthly, news.. I’m currently embracing my reading slump which is not really a slump since I’m re-reading old favorites but I can’t get into any new books. At. All. I have one ARC left (Sky in the Deep) that I need to read at some point and I’m looking forward to a few more I signed up for a while ago, maybe they will help.

In the meantime, I updated a few stuff around the blog, like my review policy (which is useless since based on my inbox no one is actually bothering to read it) and drafted a few posts. I’m watched Oscar movies, already got 7/9 so maybe I will post an Oscar movie review about them. Would you be interested in that? Out of all of them I’ve already seen Call Me By Your Name twice already, that movie ruined me and I highly recommend it!

And I saw the last Fifty Shades movie and I wrote my thoughts on it – in a list – but I’m frankly kind of afraid to post it, the fangirl wrath is a serious thing to mess with.

Wintersong by S. Jae-Jones // ⭐⭐⭐ // And I read Shadowsong which was very different from Wintersong, didn’t enjoy that one at all // ⭐ // Top Ten Tuesday, book I’ve read but don’t remember // Midnight Blue by L.J. Shen // ⭐⭐⭐⭐

I re-read City of Bones and Dark Lover which I hadn’t re-read in years, Still, Tarnished Crown, And I Darken and Now I Rise ahead of Bright We Burn release. If you still haven’t read any of the books, check out why you need to read And I Darken! That’s not too bad for a reading slump right? And now I’m going through the Gabriel’s Inferno series. I don’t know why I’m re-reading old favorites, I guess the last top ten Tuesday reminded me of so many beloved books I hadn’t re-read in years.

Do you get the feeling that no one reads your review policies or is that just me? Also, what have you watched lately?

  1. Cool video! Thanks for sharing it! And Sky in the deep has me really curious, since I saw it (and that cover) recently. Hope it’s as good as it looks like.

I’d love to see your 50 Shades post ha ha, sounds like fun. The only movies I’ve seen recently were Blade Runner 2049 and the new Cloverfield thing on netflix, but I have a ton I want to see!

  2. I know that folks definitely don’t read review policies, I just don’t put one up because I can’t be bothered to do review requests right now. I read so many books that I just didn’t care for that put me off of reading for a while that I’m just sticking to books I request or purchase for myself.

Re-reading books to break a slump is definitely a great idea, I’m so excited for Bright We Burn as I just finished the other two books in the series a few months ago and fell in love. Shame that you didn’t like Shadowsong, makes me hesitate now since I just picked up Wintersong. I really want to read Sky in the Deep after reading a few reviews that have praised it heavily, so here’s to hoping it’s a good one!

  3. A few authors are very good and have read and quote my policy int heir request but…at least 90% don’t. I still like to have it so I can delete the request with a clear conscience lol You didn’t read so I don’t need to reply.

I SO want to re-read my favorites this year! I haven’t since I started blogging over 8 years ago.

  4. Reading slumps… 🙁 But at least you’re able to enjoy some old favorites instead of being off reading completely. Call Me By Your Name looks interesting. I’ve never even heard of it but then again I don’t keep up with movies. I will probably go see the Fifty Shades movie, though. Haven’t heard much about it good or bad but I enjoyed the other movies well enough. A City of Bones reread… wow, there’s a blast from the past! The trash-fire of a movie almost ruined the whole series for me. I should probably go back and reread the series so it’s what I remember and not the movie.
