Here we are once more! Thank you all for a wonderful 2014, full with epic reads and lovely memories ♥
For some reason just when I think I’ve got my list of books for the year, there’s always a surprise there, especially little gems like last minute additions. This year apart from my top 10 books published in 2014, I’ll also include those books that I loved but were not published this year. Click on the title for the full review and links 🙂
RAW was my first read in 2014 and still I remember the amazing story and how much I loved it, it has stayed with me till today and I knew it would end up on my list ♥ It’s not a happy book. It’s not a sad book. It is alive though. It grabs you and it sucks you in, and you struggle to get out because you can see the end coming and your heart is breaking little by little but it holds you and your eyes stay wide open, ready for the collision. A broken story about two broken people that made pain and fear and agony cringe and hide in a corner.
This is not a love story.
This is a story of love gone wrong.
Raze was literally a last minute addition since I read the ARC only two days before the list and it gets published on the 30th! Raze went beyond and above whatever little my imagination could come up with. An unbelievably heartbreaking story of two people finding each other under the most difficult situations. A strong love story about two people that carry a piece of the other one from the day they were born, so that if they lost each other one day, they’d be able to identify themselves! ♥ Raze was my Christmas present and oh the tears and feelings this book gave me, just thinking about it turns me into a slobbering mess. Just epic in every level possible. Hands down one of the best books of 2014!
“I’ve seen too many bad things with these eyes. This, I will feel in my heart.”
Awaken is the third book and the conclusion of an epic love story than will stay with me forever! Words can’t express how much I love this story! Dean and Liv’s story is so captivating I was literally on the edge waiting for the last book. This book is the perfect conclusion! They both went through hell and they still managed to stay together through thick and thin, I never doubted their happy ever after even though my heart broke for them I admired the way they used their love as a shield against those who wished to hurt them.
“It’s so easy to be with her, my lusty fairy, my beautiful wife. Wanting her is like breathing. Needing her is in my blood. And loving her will always be the beat of my heart.”
Play was fantastic! I have never ever ever laughed so hard while reading a book. Even though I rarely like my books so damn funny I fell in love with Mal from the first book. Seriously. This guy is CRAZY and I love it. If it were for any other book/character I might have found it a bit too much, he is practically a man-child, never serious and even when he is you have no idea if he means it. And yet, that is adorable. And amazing. And super hot. Mal is well… he is Mal. I think his name should be in the dictionary because that is the only way someone can define him in one word. He’s Mal.
“Whatever you’re imagining, it’s bigger.”
“I’m not imagining anything.”
“I’m serious, it’s basically a monster. I cannot control it.”
“You’re pretty much going to need a whip and a chair to tame it, Anne.”
The Swan and the Jackal definitely lived up to my expectations and more! Like the previous two books In The Company of Killers series, J. A. Redmerski outdid herself and I fell in love with the series ever more. Fredrik’s love for Seraphina is out of this world. Their love is flawed and bruised and sadistic but they own it. They never once try to make it into something glorious and beautiful. They know it, and they own it. Just when the story comes to an end and you think that you have figured it out and the only thing missing is Seraphina’s fall, the author twists the story around and you’re left wondering, did I really just read that? OMG!
She is mine and she’ll be mine until the day she dies.

See? IT HAS IT ALL! It Ain’t Me, Babe!
“It’s me babe… Ain’t no other man for you… but me.”
Made gave me more than I ever hoped for! More inside info on the Mafia, more Celia and Corrado, more Vincent and Maura (!) and of course all the little bits and pieces I’ve always wondering how they took place back in the days and being able to read that through Corrado’s eyes… So freaking perfect, my fangirling heart can’t contain all the feels this book gave me!
“It’s the way you’re looking at me… it’s like you’ve never seen something so beautiful before.”
“That’s the way you’re looking at me.”
“And it bothers you?”
“I cant’ live up to it. You put me on a pedestal. I’ll only fall.””You’ll never fall. Not if I’m there to catch you.”
Reignite ♥ Luce… oh how long I’ve waited for you and you didn’t disappoint! Over a year ago, I started reading Extinguish thinking that I might not even like it because the whole evil versus good with a whole lotta love mixed in there is something that has been done before. But this is taking it to a whole other level. This is the Prince of Hell we’re talking about and Luce, from the first page till the last page of the sequel didn’t weaver from his dark ways. Let me say at this point that this is an example of Paranormal done right. I love anything Paranormal but I want it to be done just right, meaning, attention to details and making every action and reaction believable and backed-up by details.
“Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things,” Michael said. “Love never ends”.
Loved The Law of Moses! When you open an Amy Harmon book you know there’s going to be a variety of emotions. She knows how to test the boundaries of each genre and write outside the box. No actually, there’s no box when it comes to her, she destroys it and just writes epic stories. Her books always have a little bit of everything, maybe that’s what makes it so addictive and hard to put down, always leaving the reader with the best of memories after a roller coaster of emotions. Moses and Georgia’s story is so special and so hard to explain without giving the main plot away. I don’t want to say that all Amy Harmon stories have a special way of connecting the main characters because every book is unique no matter the similarities but I admire the way she brings two characters together.
“If I were to paint you, I would use every color.”
Because it’s The King people! My love for the Black Dagger Brotherhood is eternal and this shouldn’t be a surprise because it’s Wrath! And even though Zsadist is my favorite brother, Wrath holds a special place in my heart because he introduced me to this AMAZING world! This book is different on so many levels. The way the characters grow, the way the plot thickens and the rich history shown in this one was unbelievable.
Long live the King…
And even though those books weren’t mentioned above it doesn’t mean that I didn’t loooove them! Some were not published in 2014, some were not quite there and of course I had to put a limit (more like a personal challenge that I obviously can’t win!) but I loved them nonetheless, so here are my honorable mentions of the year!
- A Long Way Down — One of the most beloved book of the year, one that will surely stay with me for a loooooong time and one I highly recommend! If you think that books have the power to change our lives then please, please read this one!
- Take A Chance — Possibly the most I’ve ever connected with a character, Harlow is my kind of girl and in the midst of all the drama, I loved it!
- The Golden Dynasty — I can proudly say this is my favorite Kristen Ashley book. I’ve not a huge fan but this one is a proud 5-star read!
- Nash — The Marken Men will always have a special place on my list ♥
- Dragon’s Lair — I looooved it, it was just right, if possible I wouldn’t mind a double the size book, amazing!
- Black Lies — Mind fucked is not even suitable to describe what state this book left me in. Mind.Fucked.
And of course, my all time favorite series & my book boyfriends ♥
And for my New Year’s Resolution: Read more but not for a challenge but for myself, the more the merrier. And from different genres, I need to read outside my comfort zone and I love Paranormal and Dystopian so much, I’m just more picky than I should.
A massive THANK YOU to all of you for making 2014 the best blogging year so far, here’s to a greater 2015 ♥♥♥♥♥
