“There’s an old quote my mother once painted on a ceramic platter. Love is friendship set on fire. I get it now.”
Jamie and Wes are back! Okay, I might be a little biased when it comes to those two because I love them so freaking much but all is fair in the book blogging community, I have a right to have a few favorites, right? But seriously, I want to move in with Elle & Sarina and just watch them create, that’s all I want, see the magic happening live. I’ll cook too, pretty please?
Us picks up a few months after Him. Wes and Jamie are living together in Toronto, it’s Ryan’s rookie NHL season and Jamie is coaching hockey and even though the NHL management is aware of their relationship and totally supportive of it, they are still hiding in plain sight, but not for long…
Enter Blake, the very loud, totally oblivious to something called privacy teammate that moves across from them. And let me tell you, as hilarious as that dude was, he really needed to take a time out, his cock-blocking radar was on! He turned out to be a decent character but at times it felt like we were dealing with a child, it went a little over the top but the guys made sure to bring it back to adult level. In more ways than one.
Because Jamie & Wes? HOT!
This basically sums up their entire story. The most explosive stories are those of friends-turned-lovers, getting to know them as friends, from a young age, making a connection with them and following them on their awkward teen years and then watching them fall in love, it made this so much sweeter and I was so glad to have them back. There was not a moment that I got tired of their relationship; they were amazing, we got so many mundane daily cute moments than any other NA book usually includes.
These guys were so couple-y and compatible it was truly unique to see. Book couples usually deal with more drama, passion and angst than cute, daily moments and kudos to the authors for taking the time to build their relationship step by step.
When their relationship was finally out, it did kinda forced their hands and all but it was believable all in all and even a little miss communication issue they had was linked to their jobs and life. I won’t comment on the excellent writing, I expected it to be flawless and they delivered, if the first one wasn’t a favorite of mine which it absolutely was, I’d still want to read it just for that awesome writing but this book duo is an all time favorite! I can predict the next book, I think… Overall, like I said with Him, this is a great series for anyone that wants to read M/M. Cute, swoon, sex and humor all in one ♥
