While most of my book reviews are in drafts waiting for the release dates to get closer, here’s a quick list of movies I’m beyond excited to watch this year with King Arthur being the next one on my list! Let me know below if you plan to watch any of these!

DUNKIRK // On the top of my list is probably the most intense trailer for a movie I’ve seen this year. Christopher Nolan is back with what looks like an epic movie. Allied soldiers from Belgium, the British Empire, Canada, and France are surrounded by the German army and evacuated during a fierce battle in World War II. Brilliant cast and to be honest this looks like a masterpiece already.

KING ARTHUR: Legend of the Sword // Robbed of his birthright, Arthur comes up the hard way in the back alleys of the city. But once he pulls the sword from the stone, he is forced to acknowledge his true legacy – whether he likes it or not. Watching this Thursday, my favorite legend once again on the screen and I’m beyond excited! ?

ALL EYEZ ON ME // Tells the true and untold story of prolific rapper, actor, poet and activist Tupac Shakur. I mean… It’s Tupac.

THE HITMAN’S BODYGUARD // The world’s top bodyguard gets a new client, a hit man who must testify at the International Court of Justice. They must put their differences aside and work together to make it to the trial on time. I. NEED. THIS. YESTERDAY! ?

JUSTICE LEAGUE // Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. I’ll be honest, 90% watching this for Aquaman, it’s about  time Arthur Curry gets a decent movie. And already hyperventilating over Aquaman (2018). ?

WONDER WOMAN // Before she was Wonder Woman she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained warrior. When a pilot crashes and tells of conflict in the outside world, she leaves home to fight a war to end all wars, discovering her full powers and true destiny. DC has a strong lineup this year and WW better deliver because that trailer is absolutely stunning! ?

SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING // Following the events of Captain America: Civil War (2016), Peter Parker attempts to balance his life in high school with his career as the web-slinging superhero Spider-Man. I totally skipped Andrew Garfield’s Spidey movies so after Tobey Maguire, Tom Holland seems to be the true amazing Spiderman.

THOR: RAGNAROK // Imprisoned, the mighty Thor finds himself in a lethal gladiatorial contest against the Hulk, his former ally. Thor must fight for survival and race against time to prevent the all-powerful Hela from destroying his home and the Asgardian civilization. I promise this isn’t a Marvel/DC movie list but its Thor, I mean… ITS THOR!

THE DARK TOWER // The Gunslinger, Roland Deschain, roams an Old West-like landscape where “the world has moved on” in pursuit of the man in black. Also searching for the fabled Dark Tower, in the hopes that reaching it will preserve his dying world. See? It’s totally a legit movie list. And this little gem couldn’t not be included. Idris, how you doin’?

STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI // Having taken her first steps into a larger world in Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015), Rey continues her epic journey with Finn, Poe and Luke Skywalker in the next chapter of the saga. D-U-H-!

Will you be watching any of these?

  1. I’m definitely going to have to check out a bunch of these. I’m a big comic nerd so I will have to see Thor:Ragnarok, Spiderman, Justice League and probably Wonder Woman too because my little one loves her. lol! I hadn’t even heard of the Ryan Reynolds movie, but I do usually enjoy his movies so I may check it out. I love King Arthur stories but I feel like it’s really overdone now and none of them end up being that great, so I’m torn on that one. lol Thanks for sharing!

  2. It’s a little pathetic that I’m so behind on new and upcoming movies, really it is. But I am excited for King Arthur, Justice League, Wonder Woman and Thor! Hopefully I’ll actually get to watch some of them!!! 😉
