It’s time for a little reading recap and highlights – because I don’t think I’ll be reading anything any time soon, this reading slump comes and goes, not cool! So, the year is almost over and I have a lot of books I want to rave about. I love a good book boyfriend/husband; a hero who is not too cocky or a douche in most cases, someone who is memorable and written in a way that makes me love him. I love re-reading books and these guys have made my reading year memorable in their own way and I’ve re-read most of these books so many times it’s ridiculous!

Rhage // The Beast

First one, IT’S HOLLYWOOD! Hollywood is back with his second book in the Black Dagger Brotherhood series and I loved it. We only get one BDB book a year and the wait is worth it. As always Rhage is his handsome/hilarious self and easily he made the highlight of the year list. I mean, it’s Hollywood, duh!

Gideon, Sebastian and Sawyer Royal // Paper Princess

Three of the Royal boys have made me want to read a thousand books about them! Gideon with his unigue background and the twins Sebastian and Sawyer with their sharing is caring lovin’ are worthy of their own books because frankly I have not yet read anything similar to their stories, so bring it on!

I swallow a gasp. Oh man. Are these boys pulling twin switches on Sawyer’s girlfriend? That’s ballsy. And twisted. I pour my own bowl of cereal and lean against the counter to eat it. A few minutes later, Sebastian walks into the kitchen. As he passes the table, Sawyer murmurs, “Thanks, bro,” to his twin.

Dean West // Always

Professor West is back! Another book in the SoB series that made me love Dean even more, I didn’t know that was possible since the guy is pretty much the most amazing book husband ever. EVER.

“I’ll be here, beauty. Waiting for you.”

Roman Anderson // #BAE

I’m very knew to the Hashtag series but as far as college boyfriends go, Roman sure is on my top ten list *eyes Romeo* are all fictional sports guys called a different version of Romeo? Because I’m totally cool with that!

Wynter Atrialan // The Winter King

Nevermind the fact that this is Wynter in my mind, or the fact that The Winter King has a cover that is basically a reader-repeller, if there was a fantasy male hero checklist he checks all the boxes. ALL THE BOXES

John Logan // The Mistake

“I’m comfortable enough with my hetero status to say that if I did play for the other team? I wouldn’t just fuck Garrett Graham, I’d marry him.”

Ditto Logan, ditto.

Dean Di-Laurentis // The Score

The Mistake and The Score were not 5-star reads this year but I still loved Logan and Dean, because they both are hilarious, as is any guy in the Off-Campus series and because they’re fun to hang around with. You know, in my mind. That’s not sad and pathetic, is it? No, it’s not.

“Seriously, just find yourself a rebound.”
Dean whips up his arm. “I volunteer as tribute.”

Jamie and Wes // Us

Because I can’t choose, and it’s my post I can do whatever I want. Jamie and Wes and my ultimate MM ship, MY BOYS ROCK!

*sings* I will go down with this ship

Dante Cavallaro // Bound by Duty

It is rare that a guy in books has such a strong devotion to his dead wife, usually they downplay it or they skip it altogether but Dante is the kind of guy who loves his dead wife and even though he is forced t re-marry and eventual falls for his new wife, he still refuses to downplay his dead wife and love her less to make room for another romance. I just love him, I love him!

“What you’re looking for, I can’t give you. The part that was capable of it died with my wife, and it won’t come back.”

THAT WAS IT! Glad that’s over, my girls are up next! Have you read any of these books? My boys deserve some love, people ♥

  1. Yay awesome characters! But those twins are pulling switches on one of their girlfriends?!!! That’s awful! Why do you like them?! Lol.

“they’re fun to hang around with. You know, in my mind. That’s not sad and pathetic, is it?” Ahahaha I totally get what you’re saying. There are some characters who you do just kind of feel like you’re hanging out with them or part of their family or group of friends or whatever when you read their books. It’s good writing! And that last guy sounds awesome, that’s sweet that he didn’t just brush her aside and forget about his love for her when she died!

    1. LOL she’s aware and totally cool with it (as explained in the next one) and it’s not something I’ve read before so I’m excited to see where that plot might go, is that weird? When you read the same things over and over again something different might spark your interest. At least to me, I like different approaches to stories and good story telling that gets me interested in stuff I never thought I’d read. I’m so weird.
The Off Campus series is fictional friendship goals, so fun! And yes, Dante is so different from the usual heroes, he’s devoted even after death and, again, different is good sometimes.

  2. I’ve read only one of these books. ONE! Which means I am seriously missing out on some swoony guys. I already love Wes and Jamie. I mean, I love those guys so hard. And as much as I love Garrett, I haven’t yet picked up The Mistake or The Score. (Note to self: do that soon!) And I still need to pick up Paper Princess. That Winter Kind cover, though… ouch. LOL
