Hosting her brother’s wedding for an MVP guest list is the challenge of Jess Canning’s life. Already the family screw-up, she can’t afford to fail. And nobody (nobody!) can learn of the colossal mistake she made with the best man during a weak moment last spring. It was wrong, and there will not be a repeat. Absolutely not. Even if he is the sexiest thing on two legs.

Blake Riley sees the wedding as fate’s gift to him. Jess is the maid of honor and he’s the best man? Let the games begin. So what if he’s facing a little (fine, a lot) of resistance? He just needs to convince the stubborn blonde that he’s really a good boy with a bad rap. Luckily, every professional hockey player knows that you’ve got to make an effort if you want to score.

4 stars!

Good Boy by my new favorite duo was a highly anticipated novel and not only did it deliver but it went above and beyond. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the characters, Blake is the loud-knows-no-personal-space-has-no-filter teammate and neighbor of Jamie and Wes.

Blake has a unique personality, he is like a puppy on a sugar high, always over the top, always loud and unstoppable. And that’s why we love him.

Jess Canning met Blake when she went to visit her brother and she’s less than thrilled with him. Didn’t stop her from going there. And now she wants nothing to do with him.

I have to be honest, a huge part of me wanted to read this because of Jamie and Wes, I mean, it’s their wedding! But Blake stole the spotlight from the guys and I loved him more than I did when I read Us. Jess? She had her moments but she definitely got better and more bearable by the second half, she was just all over the place and too insecure and too whiny at times. So you made some bad decisions and you screwed up a few times, stop crying about it and move on. Blake definitely helped her loosen up and become less about what other people would think and more about herself as a person, I liked that.

Overall, it’s Blake, in all his glory. And precious moments of Jamie and Wes, lots of wedding shenanigans and a few ridiculous balloon moments plus there’s a dog. And Blake, did I mention Blake? Blake.

  1. Can’t wait to read this one! More Jamie, more Wes… and Blake totally grew on me throughout Us. At first I was texting my friend like “this guy is so annoying! I can’t stand him!” LOL What a truly great guy he turned out to be. So glad you enjoyed this one!
