Can you fall in love with someone you’ve never even met?

Hailey Taylor Emery has a hunch that her favorite client at Fetch—an anonymous virtual assistant service—is actually hockey star Matt Eriksson.

Matt Eriksson is no stranger to heartbreak. He’s still not over the destruction of his marriage, and it sucks to be the only guy on the team who knows the truth—that hockey and long-term relationships are a toxic mix. He barely sees his kids, and dealing with his ex makes him feel insane. The only person in his life who seems to understand is someone who won’t show her pretty face.

But it’s nothing that a pair of fourth row hockey seats can’t fix. Hailey can’t resist the offer. Matt can’t resist Hailey. Good thing he doesn’t have to. Fire up the kiss cam!

4 stars!

Matt Eriksson is something else, once again the duo delivered a killer read, as expected and we got a tiny hint of Wesmie which made me so happy! Of course, if you’re familiar with the series (Him & Us) then you know all about Matt Eriksson, we met him in the Him series and he’s been along for the ride so far and now finally, he got his book. Matt is a divorced dad of two girls who’s always been a little sad about his current life situation. He wants to be around his girls more and he’s still, kinda, broken up about his failed marriage. So, like a bachelor who is on the field more than home, he relays on apps and technology to get things done.

Hailey is the co-creator of Fetch—a virtual assistant service which operates anonymously and helps clients with their shopping, and anything they need to get done but can’t do it themselves. Hailey has been helping Matt do pretty much anything, from picking up furnitures for his new house, to picking underwear but she doesn’t know it’s him. The two meet when Matt gives her tickets to one of his games.

Matt and Hailey lead two very similar lives, she’s divorced but still working with her ex husband, co-creator of Fetch, so they have common ground to bond over, apart from hockey. As a big fan of the duo and this series, this was another great addition to it and I don’t want it to end. Sarina and Elle have given us so many characters to love and connect with, there’s a few guys I’d be interesting to read about in the future.

What I loved most about this – that we didn’t get as much from the rest of the books, was the WAGs. I’m not overly familiar with WAGs so it was nice to get a better glimpse of them in this one. What a sweet and caring bunch they were! The story didn’t have any over the top drama and it was – as always – delivered beautifully. If you are not familiar with the series yet, get on it!

  1. Squuueeeee!!! Love the sound of this one! Bowen/Kennedy can do no wrong as far as I’m concerned. As a writing duo they are magic. So great to hear that Stay is right up to par with the others. Can’t wait to get more of Matt and to meet Hailey. 🙂
