He broke me. The only man I’ve ever loved. Wrecked me beyond recognition. But I can’t get away from him. Brayden haunts me, persistently. His last name is what he is—a hunter. And I’m his prey.
I just want to move on, forget him. But he won’t let me. He’s a whore and I break, letting him in. One hit is a gateway drug, and I’m suddenly unable to stay away. So I take what I need from him. I hate him. I love him. And I don’t even have a fighting chance against him.

4 stars!

I love this duo and I love this series! I mentioned in the first one that Brayden kind of fucked up with his manwhore ways during Need – the usual trope of I have to get her out of my system so I’ll bang everything with legs thing – so now Kira is totally getting back to him for it and I liked how she didn’t forgive him. They situation is hard as it is but add his past to the mix and things are bound to get dramatic.

Still, there was the usual push and pull between the two but at the same time, it was clear Kira was deliberately trying to hurt him or to at least get him to understand that he has been acting like a douche in the past. While I want them to stop the BS and just talk, figure things out, be together and give me all the feels, I totally get what Kira is feeling and I totally love that she’s not giving in to him so easily, I can’t stress this enough! Still, because it’s them, this book despite the conflict between the two, is explosive.

I just love the writing of this series, so engaging, so fast but at the same time detailed and it never let you want to put the book down, plus this ends with a massive cliffhanger that will have you running for the next one!

>Kira’s finally mine. Mine. And nobody and nothing is going to take her from me. I’ll fight for her, to the death. Do anything for her. There’s no more living without her. No more holding back my feelings. If only it was enough. We’re surrounded every day. Watched. Stalked. Judged. Everyone knows us. Now, they suspect. The odds are stacked against us more than before. We live in the shadows, hiding our love from the entire world. But not for long. I refuse to live like this anymore. I’ll do whatever it takes to own her. I’m waging a dark war against those that stand against us. And I will win.
That girl is going to be mine forever, and there’s nothing anyone can do about it.

4 stars!

Take ends with a cliffhanger so you’ll be reading these two books back to back. Brayden gets in trouble with the law – that’s what you get for letting your fists do the talking, I mean, some fictional character need some serious anger management – and that sort of out them to a few people and then once more than one person knows, it’s no longer a secret.

Their story goes from being completely hidden to right under the spotlight. School, family, neighbors, there’s no containing it and that was what made it so different from the previous two and more real, in a way. The source to all of their fights was the fact that no one could “claim” the other one in public, so they both had to do they’re own thing – mostly to piss off the other one – and now they just don’t anymore. And let me tell you, Brayden and Kira as a couple are just an utter delight. Along with Dana and Ryan there, it totally felt like a normal relationship, so fun to read.

Which brings me to my one tiny issue, in the end after everyone accepts them and it makes the taboo element of the story not that big of a deal after all, so what, their parents got married before these two had the time to officially become a couple, everyone was so cool in the end, like oh okay so now they are together, it lessened the drama of the first two but hey I still love it! Now I’m ready for Ryan’s book!
