Top Ten Tuesday is an original list feature meme hosted by the Broke and the Bookish.

*sigh* there’s just not enough time to READ ALL THE BOOKS! When I saw the topic for this week’s list I cried a sea of tears because look at all the books I still haven’t managed to read #FAIL.

Nevernight // Vengeance and school of assassins all wrapped up in a gorgeous cover! Sadly it has mixed reviews that range from 5 glorious stars to 1 I barely was able to finish this and that made me pause for a moment and now it’s stuck in the endless TBR that keeps pilling up books so I don’t know…

The Raven Boys // Oh my lord everyone is obsessed with series and the cover is so inviting, plus I’ve never read anything by the author and the little teasers I’ve seen are so good, WHY HAVEN’T I READ THIS YET

Six of Crows // *sigh* Leigh Bardugo has some of the most hyped series ever and I keep reading about the epicness that is the Grisha trilogy, from what I’ve seen, this is set on the same universe? I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IS HAPPENING BUT EVERYONE IS SO LOVING THIS AND I WANT IN

Clockwork Angel // *cries a sea of tears* The Mortal Instruments is one of my favorite series ever so why I haven’t read this yet is beyond me. Hang in there Tessa, Will and Jem, I’ll read you one day!

A Pound of Flesh // Very few New Adult books stay on my TBR for as long as A Pound of Flesh has and I don’t even know why , shocking I know, other books just came up and I never got to it but I will! In another lifetime, probably…

Naked In Death // *lowers head in shame*

Shadow and Bone // Is this the book to start the LB epicness from? EDUCATE ME PEOPLE

Red Rising // I’m ashamed to still have this on my TBR, the blurb sounds amazing and everyone loves it. But me. Because I still haven’t read it. Because I suck.

Throne of Glass & A Court of Thorns and Roses // I DON’T KNOW WHY OKAY I DON’T KNOW ANYTHING, I’M JON SNOW

Lady Midnight // Saved the best for last, Lady Midnight and Lord of Shadows are both on my list for this summer, if I don’t read I will probably combust from disappointment because I miss this universe and I want back in. I will try to read the Infernal Devices too but TESSA, WILL AND JEM PEOPLE!

Captive Prince // I have no excuse for Captive Prince but again, it’s a series that got pushed back on my TBR as others were added, I mean, it’s a historical MM story I *runs to read now*

These are the books I still haven’t read and I’m a huge failure as a reader but I’ll live with my shame for the time being. Like all readers 24 hours a day are not enough to do the things and read the books as well.

Have you read any of the above? Feel free to point at my failures while I cry…

  1. Oh my goodness, SO MANY great books on this list! I’m currently in the midst of the Red Rising series myself, and I’m loving it!

You for sure need to read everything by Leigh Bardugo. I think her writing lives up to the hype. Not everyone loves the Grisha trilogy; I thought they were great but not as great as the Six of Crows duology. I’d start with the Grisha trilogy first, though, because they’re chronologically first and the little cameos in SoC/CK are really fun.

  2. Awesome list! You need to read Clockwork Angel: they are AMAZING and I loved them even more than The Mortal Instruments! I started A Court of Thorns and Roses and enjoyed it, but I still need to finish them! I still have to read The Raven Boys, Six of Crows, Shadow and Bone, and Throne of Glass though, so don’t feel alone 🙂

  3. Six of Crows is definitely one I want to read too. I love how you put that- “I WANT IN.” It’s like the cool kids party lol. And initially I was just gonig to read the duology but now I think maybe I should read Grisha? So I have, like, the background? Argh more books ha ha.

    Great list. 🙂

  4. I loved The Infernal Devices trilogy. I know a lot people like it even better than The Mortal Instruments. While TMI is still my fave, TID is still so, so good. And the last book has possibly the best, most epic epilogue I’ve ever read.

As much as I LOVE the A Court of Thorns and Roses series (and I do, I do, I do), I just couldn’t get into ToG. I read the first book a couple years ago and thought it was just okay. Everyone told me the books got better but I’ve just never continued the series. Maybe one day…

  5. So many of these are on my TBR list. I just started Six of Crows and adored book 1 so I highly recommend that one. I’ve read the first book in the Red Rising series and absolutely loved it, so I have no excuses as to why I haven’t read the next book yet. Like you say, 24 hours is just not enough time to get all of the things done that I need and want to do.
