The Sunday Post is a weekly recap meme hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

HAPPY NEW YEAR! It’s officially 2017 and I’m oddly thrilled for the new year. The last days of 2016 were not great to be honest.

A little less than two weeks ago my laptop crashed out of the blue and that was it; I was told it will cost the same to fix as a new laptop so I didn’t bother. Instead I got a tablet which came with a keyboard and a case so that was a nice Christmas deal and gift to myself. And then around Tuesday night when I opened my Kindle app, all my books were gone. JUST GONE. Thankfully the Amazon Kindle support people were so helpful and I got everything back in minutes.

Yeah, down to the last days 2016 was beyond nasty and stressful. Also, it is not easy to write a blog post on my tablet, or graphics but I’ve managed to do both these days since I was too lazy to draft my top ten books list. Note to self: always draft, you never know. And we had some plumbing issues in the kitchen that couldn’t get fixed because it was New Year’s Eve and all so it’ll have to wait.

Enough whining though; it’s a new year and I just set my new Goodreads reading goals – 100 books again, did you set your reading goal yet?

Haven’t read my first book of the year yet but I’m very exciting to find something, last year it was And I Darken and it is #1 on my top ten of 2016 so hopefully I’ll read something equally awesome!

  1. Happy New Year to you!! Yikes about the books- I’m glad Kindle support was able to help, I think I’d freak! Hope the new tablet works out. 🙂

I was not very happy w/ 2016 by the end there so I’m hopeful 2017 will be better! How can it not be lol? Ooh, wait better not say that. Anyway, have a super week!

  2. I am cringing her at the double whammy that took away your laptop and your Kindle books! So glad you got it all back…eventually. Since the e-books are in the Cloud, it is hard to imagine losing them, though.

I need to more carefully think about backing things up…lol.

Enjoy your week, and better days ahead! Thanks for visiting my blog.

  3. Happy New Year!! Sorry to hear about your computer. That really sucks. Awesome that you were able to make the post on your tablet though.. I don’t know if I would be able to do that.
I hope you had a great first day of 2017. 😉

  4. Sorry to hear about your laptop and kindle troubles. One thing I do try to stay ahead on is graphics, even if all I have is an idea for a post but nothing written yet. I learned that that was a good idea when my laptop broke earlier this year. I had to stop blogging for a couple weeks because I was able to write posts on my kindle but couldn’t make the graphics!

So far my first book of the year isn’t turning out too great. It wasn’t too great last year either. I have bad luck with first books lol. But maybe yours will be better! Happy New Year 🙂

    1. I had a few saved on my laptop that I didn’t have time to upload unfortunately but I have everything else saved. It’s not that hard to make one from my tablet so I’m good to go until I find a solution. It sucked because it was just before my yearly best books post.

It was actually, same as last year. Sorry yours wasn’t ?

  5. I need to seriously think about replacing my laptop before it completely gives out on me. It’s heading in that direction, I’m afraid. I’m sorry you had to deal with replacing yours on top of everything else. Plumbing problems are the worst! I hope it turns out to be a simple fix and not too expensive. I am glad you are looking on the positive side of it though with the New Year finally being here. 🙂

I haven’t yet seen Hamilton, but I hope to someday. Have a great rest of the week, and Happy New Year!
