I refuse to believe that yet another year has come to an end but like every year, here’s another creative way to cheat my way through this list. Now usually I try to include as many books as possible, as honorable mentions or any other creative way and this year I’m including series as well. It’s my list, I can do whatever I want with it and this is what I’m doing this year.

#10 DEAR MARTIN
AMAZON // GOODREADS // REVIEW
Dear Martin was such a nice surprise this year. This is truly a book everyone should read. Dear Martin is one of those books you can’t and shouldn’t ignore. Powerful debut.

#9 RADIANCE
AMAZON // GOODREADS // REVIEW
I picked up Radiance out of nowhere and it turned out to be one of the best books of the year, I just love when that happens and I can’t wait to read the sequel.

#8 LITTLE FIRES EVERYWHERE
AMAZON // GOODREADS // REVIEW
Little Fires Everywhere was a highly anticipated book I never thought I’d get approved for and yet I got it and it delivered one of the most complex books I’ve read, ever.

“The earth is all scorched and black and everything green is gone. But after the burning the soil is richer, and new things can grow. People are like that too, you know. They start over. They find a way.”

#7 SOMETHING IN THE WAY & SOMEBODY ELSE’S SKY
AMAZON // GOODREADS // REVIEW
AMAZON // GOODREADS // REVIEW
I’m cheating with this one but I can’t include just one of the two mostly because for me the third book in the series sucked which made this even more precious to me, I fell for Manning and Lake and sometimes you don’t get the conclusion you want but it still doesn’t change the feels. It’s not for everyone but it’s done so flawlessly, it’s literally calling you to read it and be heartbroken.

#6 DEFY
AMAZON // GOODREADS // REVIEW
A novella that should have been a full novel, Defy is a book I’ve read more times than I want to count and it gives me the same feelings every single time.

#5 GOODBYE PARADISE
AMAZON // GOODREADS // REVIEW
Goodbye Paradise gave me the feels. And I re-read it and it still gave me the feels. Just thinking about it gives me the feels. YAS BOOK!

“He was the last one I saw before I closed my eyes at night and the first person I looked for when I opened them again in the morning.”

#4 GRIP & STILL
AMAZON // GOODREADS // REVIEW
AMAZON // GOODREADS // REVIEW
Cheating with two books again but honestly, Bristol and Grip are awesome and I love them and Grip is precious and Still killed me so they both get on the list. MY HEART IS SO FULL OF THEM I CAN’T EVEN! Bristol and Grip are officially on the top ten of my favorite couples, with Alexander and Tatiana, Rimmel and Romeo, Garrett and HannahTrent and DrewJamie and Wes and so on. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve re-read my favorite parts of this duology and I still cannot get enough.

#3 THE SONG OF ACHILLES
AMAZON // GOODREADS // REVIEW
NOT. OVER. THIS. BOOK. T. H. I. S. B.O.O.K. I.S. E.V.E.R.Y.T.H.I.N.G. I was not ready for this book. I was not ready for the tsunami of feels. Honestly, where has this been ALL MY LIFE?!

“When I am dead, I charge you to mingle our ashes and bury us together.”

#2 JUNKIE & REV
AMAZON // GOODREADS // REVIEW
MY PRECIOUS! Last year I had Jamie and Wes, this year I have Trent and Drew and I love these books. The Hashtag series is an all time favorite but I had completely missed these two mostly because the covers look nothing like that series, but when I discovered that Trent and Drew had their own books? I DIED AND I’M STILL DEAD!

#1 NOW I RISE
AMAZON // GOODREADS // REVIEW
Like last year, the sequel to And I Darken was without a doubt the best thing I read all year. Why? It was highly anticipated – I literally counted down the days and checked NetGalley daily for the ARC – and it delivered yet again an amazing story with a badass Lada and ALL THE FEELS! Also I knew from the first chapter that this would be on the top and it is!

“I do not take orders from women.”
“My men do not have a similar problem.” Lada lifted a hand. The man fell, a crossbow bolt sticking out from his chest.

Have you read any of these? What’s your Top 10 of the year?

  1. I include series too. And I’ve just generally kinda given up trying to narrow down my end of the year lists to ten lol. Radiance and Song of Achilles are on my TBR, so it makes me happy to see that you loved them both enough to put them on this list! Also considering reading And I Darken since everyone seems to love it!

  2. OMG how I love year end top ten lists. I swear, I live for these lists. LOL Unfortunately I’ve been so swamped lately that I haven’t managed to put my own list together. Gah!

I’ve gone back and forth over reading Little Fires Everywhere. Just can’t decide if I’m truly interested.
Goodbye Paradise is so high on my TBR. You know I love e some Sarine Bowen. 😍
