Last post of the year – I don’t know about you people but I can’t wait for this year to be over. I had an interesting reading year, with more re-reads than ever mostly because the majority of the books I read were either underwhelming or left me with a crazy book hangover so I had to get out one of my comfort  books and re-read. I read a total of 105 books, 20 less than last year which is not bad considering my goals have been 100 books for both years. Also 33,565 pages is a lot. A LOT.

As you can see, the majority of the books were rated with 2 stars and 3 stars but I didn’t review all of them on the blog, that’s a lot of 2-star reviews… you can find all my reviews on Goodreads though. Fortunately I had a lot of books rated with 4 stars and 5 stars and a lot of them were series. You can find my top 10 books of the year here!

This year I finally read The Handmaid’s Tale which I loved and of course followed by the TV show which I have yet to finish for some reason.

I couldn’t be happier to see that Still is the highest rated book on Goodreads, loved this and it made my top ten of the year list! Also, my average rating is 3.2 which is probably the lowest I’ve ever had on Goodreads. Hopefully next year will bring more high rated books.

Books I re-read this year:

How did your reading year go?

  1. My average Goodreads rating for the year was 3.5, which sounds exactly right. I’m hoping that next year I get a lot more 4 and 5 star reads! Happy New Year!

  2. We read almost the same amount this year (I was at 100) but thankfully I did not have so many 2 star books. Ugh, sad when the majority of your reads are below 3 stars. 🙁 I think my average GR rating was 3.7. Also, our longest book read was almost the same exact pages: you = 1032, me = 1055. Mine was 3 books in one. Hopefully 2018 will bring a lot more books that you love.
